Therapy for Breakups & Divorce
Your life changed. Now you're trying to figure out what comes next.
A breakup, separation, or divorce can leave you questioning what you want, who you are outside of the relationship, and what your future is supposed to look like.
When the future you pictured suddenly looks different
You may be carrying a lot at once.
Grief.
Anger.
Confusion.
Loneliness.
Doubt.
Depression.
Anxiety.
You may miss the person and still know the relationship needed to end.
You may feel ready to move forward one day and completely overwhelmed the next. These mood fluctuations are normal.
And, there isn't a right way to feel about the end of a relationship.
And you don't have to decide what the rest of your life looks like right now.
What feels hardest right now?
I can't stop thinking about the relationship.
I don't know who I am without them.
I'm struggling to be alone.
I knew this would happen. This was such a waste of time.
I keep questioning whether I made the right decision.
I don't know how to trust someone again.
I'm worried about starting over.
I'm ready to move forward, but I don't know how.
If any of these cause a pang in your chest or a nod of the head, then…
Therapy can be a place to make sense of what happened.
In our work together, we'll look at what you're experiencing now and what you want to change.
That might mean processing the end of the relationship. It might mean rebuilding your confidence, understanding patterns in past relationships, learning to set boundaries, or figuring out what you want your life to look like now.
We'll focus on what matters to you.
I create an individualized approach for every client. I may use talk therapy, EMDR, cognitive therapy and other evidence-based methods depending on what you're experiencing and what will be most helpful for you.
Hi, I’m Alison!
I know that the end of a relationship can affect much more than the relationship itself. It can shake your whole being and leave you wondering what life will look like from now on.
As a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist, I help adults navigate anxiety, trauma, and the relationship patterns that can make life feel uncertain.
I'm also a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional, Certified Addictions-Informed Professional, and trained in EMDR, with a background in helping adults work through anxiety, difficult experiences, and patterns that keep them feeling stuck.
I check all the boxes for someone who is qualified for helping clients with relationship problems. But, what’s important is that you feel like I am a good fit for your problem.
My goal is to create a space where you feel safe opening up about some of the most raw parts of your life. That requires compassion, patience, and sometimes enough silence to let you sit with what has happened without me trying to direct you.
You can start with what's on your mind right now.
A free consultation is available for you If you’re feeling encouraged enough to take the first step. From there, we’ll talk about what you’re wanting help with and see if we’re a good fit.
